Help the front lines - Part 11

One of our current humanitarian areas is helping our four legged friends, abandoned animals.

Our help for the front line started with assistance to the Kharkiv territorial defence. At the time, we met Mr. Oleg from Zerkala, who owned a vehicle and transported aid to the Kharkiv region. He helped us deliver our first bundle of aid to orphanages. This is how our collaboration started. At first, Mr. Oleg helped to provide soldiers with boots. When he heard that we supported animal shelters, he introduced us to Miss Lilia Bondarenko, a representative of a pet food company in Ukraine for famous brands such as Purina, Dog Chow, Friskies, Felix and Gourmet.  Miss Lilia has been a key player in being able to provide pet food assistance for every city where the help is needed by donating products from their stock.

Helping animals requires well-organized logistics, and soon it became apparent that we needed storage spaces. We held a series of discussions and sent numerous requests to different organisations.  In the end, CCC Ukraine offered us 1250 square meters free of charge. It was a very generous act, especially in light of constant demand and shortages of storage rooms. Our heartfelt thanks to CCC Ukraine and its director, Sir Maxym Kinash!

We started the delivery of pet food for the dogs of the members of Kyiv territorial defence and moved onto a shelter in Kyiv and NGO Kharkiv Animal Rescue. We were also able to provide pet owners in Mykolaiv with quality animal food through a vet clinic, we all understand that in the current situation residents of Mykolaiv are not able to provide their pets with the necessary pet food. In addition, we sent pet food to Stryi foundation, which takes care of a cat shelter and has agreed to take in and care for a large number of German Shepherds from Kharkiv.

The plans for the expansion of our geographical support with the donated food in ongoing.  We are extremely grateful to our donors and partners for their benevolence, generosity and willingness to help. Each small step brings us closer to peace.
