Bohdana Raikhert received a call from her acquaintances from Kharkiv territorial defence. They asked her to help Valeriia, who engaged in the Maidan Revolution back in 2014. They described Valeriia as a patriotic and honest person. She had to flee the Kharkiv region, where she ran a kennel for German Shepherd Dogs.
Members of the territorial defence helped Valeriia get out of Kharkiv. Then, a couple of dubious people volunteered to help her relocate with her family and the animals. On their way, they had to go through nine relocations. One dog died during the shelling. They planned to move on to Germany, where everything had been arranged for Valeriia, her family and the elite Shepherd Dogs kennel. However, the drivers decided to take advantage of the woman’s vulnerability. Valeriia, responsible for 21 dogs and her ill parents, faced threats and extortion from their side.
